Above is the link to a poem by Theo Dorgan. I heard him read it recently, on the radio. Theo has a marvellous voice. He could read the shipping news and it might move you to tears.
Night Walk with Bella is for those who know love, and those yearning for love. To read it is to remember what one once had, and to wish for what’s unknown – or yet to come.
There is a dog. Maybe she is Bella. But maybe Bella is the woman who walks the beach with the narrator:
‘each of us wearing a single glove
the better to hold hands…’
Like I said. Tears.
A small poem. A poem full of the normal; in which the normal is made wondrous.
Go, walk the beach with Theo…
